Excisional Biopsies ( Removal of moles, skin growths etc)
A surgical procedure in which a cut is made through the skin to remove an entire lump or suspicious area. The sample is then sent to the provincial laboratory for pathology for microscopic evaluation to determine for signs of disease ( Benign vs malignancy) . The area will be sutured closed, bandaged, and patient will be sent home with instructions for monitoring of signs and symptoms of infection.
Punch Biopsy ( Completed for Diagnosis, Samples Sent for Pathology)
A procedure in which a small round piece of tissue about the size of a pencil eraser is removed using a sharp, hollow, circular instrument. The tissue sample is then sent for pathology at the provincial laboratory for microscopic evaluation ( Ie. Benign vs malignancy).
Follow- Care After Biopsy ( Removal of Sutures, Reassessment of skin healing)
This appointment is booked 7 to 10 days after the biopsy is completed. Follow-up of any pathology results will be completed within 6 to 8 weeks or once results have been received.
Wart Treatment ( Cryotherapy, Single Episode)
Patient will receive cryotherapy using cryosuccess treatment application.
